Kano State INEC Resident Officer, Wife And Children Die In Mysterious Fire In Their Home


The Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abdullahi Minkaila, his wife and two children were burnt to death in a mysterious fire outbreak at their home last night April 2nd.

Alhaji Minkaila who supervised last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections in Kano and his family members were rushed to the Murtala Mohammed specialist hospital where they gave up the ghost this morning.
Residents in the area described the fire as mysterious. The spokesman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Mallam Garba has confirmed the incident.

19-Year-Old Boy Mistakenly Impregnates Mother While Testing Love Charm

Residents of Asaba, Delta State are yet to recover from the shock of how a 19-year-old Godwin (not real name) allegedly impregnated his mother while testing his love charm.

According to report, the boy, famously known as Ekenem, was said to have gone to a native doctor, who allegedly prepared a love charm for him to use on his mother and one of the matrons in the college where he is a boarding student.


It was gathered that the husband of the woman, who has been away for some time outside his Port Harcourt operational base, denied being responsible for the pregnancy during interrogation.

Jonathan Stops PDP’s Bid To Contest Buhari’s Victory


President Goodluck Jonathan may have prevailed on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to challenge President-elect Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s victory  in last Saturday’s election.

Instead of planning a case for the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, the Presidency will raise a Transition Committee on Tuesday, a source told The Nation yesterday.

Italian police find bullet-riddled body of Nigerian woman in pine forest

This story made the news on Italian newspapers on Wednesday. The Italian police said they were called to a scene of a crime where they found the bullet-riddled body of a woman near a bicycling trail in woods between the Tuscan cities of Lucca and Pisa. The body was discovered by tourists in a pine forest near Torre del Lago in Lucca province. The woman had five gunshot wounds.

The body has been identified as that of a Nigerian woman aged 46. But the police didn't give her name. Italian police said they are investigating her murder and hope that an autopsy will help them find traces of her killer. The police say they believe the murdered woman was a prostitute
